Catch, photograph and release has been a strict policy at Whisperwood
for many years. This
coupled with the lack of fishing pressure, an abundance of structure, a healthy
food chain (smelt, crayfish, mayflies, etc.) and a highly successful annual
spawn provides you with all the ingredients of a quality fishery.
Whisperwood
is located at the south end of Salmon Lake, a glacial body of water with a
variety of fish holding structure. At the north end of the lake, a channel
allows easy access to McGrath pond. The
primary species of fish you can expect to catch are smallmouth and largemouth
bass, as well as brown trout, white perch, yellow perch and pickerel. Spin
fishing, fly-fishing, or trolling can catch all species of fish. |
